How Do I Choose the Best Liquid Vitamin B12?

When choosing the best liquid vitamin B12, it is necessary to consider factors such as the amount of vitamins in the mixture, where the vitamins are from, and the taste. Liquid vitamins can be more easily absorbed into the body than pill vitamins, but the ingredients in them are very important to facilitate this process. Some liquid vitamin B12 formulas are synthetic, which means that they are created in a lab, while others come from natural sources such as whole foods. The combination of vitamins in the formula is also important, because you have certain dietary needs that you want to be met by taking liquid vitamins.

It is helpful to read the ingredient list when choosing liquid vitamin B12 supplements. If the name of the vitamin has a chemical listed after it, this means that it is synthetic and was created in a lab. Look for a formula that simply states the type of B12 vitamin in the ingredients list to find a supplement that comes from a whole food, such as algae. Be cautious of any additives to the supplement that you do not want to place in your body, such as sugars or sodium. These items can help make the supplement taste better, but you should choose based upon your personal dietary needs, which might not include adding certain products to your diet.

Liquid vitamin B12 often comes paired with other vitamins, such as additional B vitamins or a multi-vitamin formula. This provides additional vitamins that you might want to add to your diet, so choose a combination liquid vitamin B12 if you are looking to add more vitamins and minerals to your diet. There are certain combinations that are recommended if you are a vegetarian or vegan, as it is sometimes more difficult to get all of the vitamins that you need. Speaking to a doctor or nutritionist can help you make a good decision if you are in this situation.

Certain liquid vitamin B12 supplements do not taste good when you place them in your mouth, so you want to choose one that appeals to your senses without adding unhealthy ingredients to your body. This can be found by trying different brands of the vitamin to determine which one you like best. Liquid vitamins can also be taken in pre-made vitamin drinks, or by mixing your favorite supplement with juice, which can make a liquid vitamin complex taste better.

I've just been diagnosed with a vitamin B12 deficiency. I heard that there are two types of vitamin B12 liquid -- one that is swallowed normally and another that is absorbed under the tongue. Is one better than the other?

@anon312008-- I use one that I got from the pharmacy. Check out your local pharmacy or look online. What type of vitamin formula are you looking for? You can find a liquid multi-vitamin that contains vitamin B12 in addition to things like calcium, vitamin C and A. You can also find a liquid vitamin B complex that only contains different B vitamins.

I've heard that taking B vitamins together is a good idea as they work together in the body.

Liquid vitamin B12 is great. My son has a vitamin B12 deficiency because he refuses to eat many foods such as meat. I cannot give him tablet supplements because they're too large and he can't swallow them. He is also resistant to taking tablets because he knows it's medicine.

Thankfully, his doctor prescribed him a great tasting liquid vitamin B12 supplement. It tastes like strawberries and he likes the taste. I can get him to take this regularly and he is not tired anymore!

Can anyone recommend a liquid vitamin B12 in a multi-vitamin formula?
