What Happened on September 11, 2001?

It was the worst day ever. It was really scary being in that smoke.

A lot of people died.

I was born in 2001 and thank god my dad wasn't harmed, but he helped a lot of people and dug out bodies the next day. He was in the FBI and his building was so close to the World Trade Center.

I wasn't born yet. Actually, I was born one year afterward in 2002. I read what happened and it almost made me cry. Those people were so brave. I'm just glad that nobody in my family got hurt. And shame on those people who made all those people die. I am 10 years old and this happened 11 years ago.

I lost four members of my family that day.

I do not know anything about this, but I want to know.

I was four years old when this event happened. To be honest, I was devastated seeing all of the people running, crying, jumping from the buildings, and seeing the smoke rise from the buildings. For a four year old, that's pretty scary. I believe my cousins were over by the buildings while this occurred but they ran and got the heck out of there. They are still alive.

At school during this tragic event, my teachers, my friends and my friends parents were all freaking out. Being the youngest one in my class, I asked a lot of questions like what happened? Everyone was just getting picked up from the school.

On this same day, my little sister was trapped in a van with no a/c at a sam's club. 9/11 was just not a good day. I hope everyone who had passed away on that horrifying day rests with god and will always be remembered as heroes. God bless the USA. My name is J. Thomas and I am 15 years old.

Two planes hit the World Trade Center and it took 102 minutes.

It is sad what happened and I feel sorry for the families of people who died in this event, but the U.S. has gone too far warmongering. The U.S. has killed a lot of innocent people. Think about Hiroshima. How brave was that dropping an atomic bomb on innocent civilians, 150,000 killed in Iraq and how many have you killed in Vietnam and all the other places where you really don't belong.

So yeah, it's sad, but you brought that upon yourselves. We are all bystanders of a corporate military regime that you call the United States that terrorizes the world.

It's so sad and my brother almost died that day because of all the smoke. I feel like crying. I'm crying so much. I feel bad for the people in the building and on the planes. I will always love and cherish the people who died. I hate you, osama bin laden!

Our social studies teacher was s high school student. Her best friend's father died that day.

The day our nation was tried, I was in the first twin tower. I was on the first level, and the whole time I was thinking how beautiful it was to see inside the lovely building, but then, about a half hour later, I heard a big boom. I thought they were construction workers or something until I saw everyone running out screaming, "help,” so I realized something was not right.

I started to turn when something hit me from the ceiling. It was starting to collapse. It made me dizzy and my eyes became blurry. Knowing that I might pass out or something else would hit me, I ducked and kept running. I could not see very well where I was going, so I saw a worker and followed him as fast as I could. I ended up losing him, so I grabbed my cellphone and started to call my mother. When she answered I started to cry. She asked me what was wrong. I told her to look on the news and I'm in the building. She started to get frightened. I said, “Mom, I can see the doors. I'm going out. I will be fine.”

Well, a group of people pushed past me and I fell. Luckily a man with a cop hat on helped me up and led me to the door. As I walked out, I felt fresh air, then wiped my head in relief. When I took my hand away, my head was bleeding from whatever it was that had hit me from before. So many people gathered around me and were asking me questions. I told them I did not want to be bothered, so I sat down and from there I watched the twin towers come down and kill thousands of our nations people. I did feel bad but in my mind I knew I could not save these people.

I feel for everyone who was in there that day and made it. Every day we have to think about how we could've died or how someone else died in our place for not being able to get out of the building. People say I am lucky. If I could have, I would have died in the place of any of the children in that building. There was a three year old in that building with her mother I had seen, but when all this hit, I only saw the mother jumping out of the window.. The baby never came out. I feel for everything that happened that day. I love America! We will make it through this and whatever else they want to bring over. We are troops, here to fight for what's right.

I remember when the 9/11 hit. I was only 10. I was in New York the night before the twin towers were attacked. I've never seen anything like it. It was horrible. Never have I seen so many innocent people do what they did that day. I was frightened. I knew we had just taken my uncle to new york to see the twin towers. And now they were being attacked. I knew for sure that my uncle was dead.

I started to cry and told my mom, then she started to freak out, but about 9:30 a.m., we received a call from a pay phone. I answered it. It was my uncle. He had gotten out before. He was only on the first floor when it happened. He said he saw a little girl sitting there looking lost, so he grabbed her and ran out. To this day we still do not know who her mother is, but my uncle treats her like his own and she is happy. That day was a day that our nation was tried and I will never forget, and neither will most of us. So I want us all to remember this and learn from it. I love the United States of America, and my uncle and new cousin.

It must have been really sad for those people to go through that terrifying moment.It broke my heart when my teacher showed us the footage of 9-11 because more than 3,000 people died over neglect and hate and violence from another county that plan to do this to america. Watch a video of a planned demolition, with the collapse of a building, then watch the video of WTC 1, 2 and 7 collapsing. What is the difference? This is where anybody should start. Conclusions, of course, are still not clearly defined. There is a time to mourn and a time to tell the truth, I suppose.

I was in Florida and one of my friends was there. He was the same age as me but he died. I cried for two hours.

The government staged it totally! I worked at the hotel near this and my boss let me see the tapes before they were restricted. Bush lies!

I was in in grade 9 so I was about 13, and I got up to go to school and saw it on the news. nobody did anything all day but talk about it and watch it. When I saw, there was supposedly some dirty looking caveman behind it. I was mad yeah, and unfortunately thought racist things and said racist things against Muslims.

So I'm now 23 and have realized that my reaction is exactly what the people in power want the masses to believe. Just like Adolf Hitler did in the second world war by demonizing Jews, our leaders have presented us with this terrifying image of savages who live for our destruction.

Looking into things, however, I realized that the "Savages" were really our leaders! I am now fully aware of the scale of our government's corruption, and recognize that they are the biggest gangsters and thugs in the world. I have abandoned my crap Christian religion and in being an atheist, found something I can only describe as an inner peace mixed with a lust for the blood of the exploiter. Abandon your gods, stop worshipping celebrities and money and look into things for yourselves. Put down that useless newspaper and do a google search on something and look for some independent media, anything but listen to the sequence of events laid out to you by the shepherds.

I'm not meaning this in a demeaning way. But the USA and Israel are the most evil monsters that have ever lived. Not the citizens, the ones in power.

September 11, 2001 I was in the third grade. I live in mountain standard time and I woke up early that morning around 6:30. I turned on the tv just to see "Breaking News" the World Trade Center had been hit. I kept watching and 15 minutes later the second Tower had been hit. It is an event that will be remembered by people forever. God Bless America!

Me at age 5 coloring the U.S flag in my home and my family watching the news and all of sudden "breaking news" and me looking at the T.V and my parents were in tears and all looking at at the screen with shock. I saw people panicking and running.

My older friend came from school saying as soon as they started to say the pledge of allegiance a boy came running to class and said to turn on the T.V that airplanes crashed the Twin Towers (World Trade Center) and for the full period watching the news. That day I will never forget.

I was in fourth grade and my teacher received a call on the phone and she turned the television on to CNN, we all stopped and watched as the first tower was hit and minutes later the second was hit. You could see spots coming out of the sky, which were really people falling from the towers as they began to fall. This was such a traumatic day.

i was one year old and now I'm 10 years old fixing to turn 11. I'm in fith grade and the other day we watched a movie in class. it was about 911. it made me cry!

when i first heard the news, I felt terrible because it happened on the same day as my birthday. Why did it have to happen on the same day as my birthday. It makes me feel like that day is very unlucky.

Why the heck would someone even think of killing so many people?

I was in third grade when 9/11 happened and it changed my life forever. My mom was on flight 11. Ever since the day I still cannot forgive or forget. It really shows how much damage just a couple of people can do. I go to New York every year on September 11 to go to ground zero to pay my respects to all the heroes and all the people who passed away because of this tragic event, including my mom.

I was four when the attack took place. Seeing the videos, pictures and reading the stories now, when I'm 13, though I cannot fully understand, gives me a much bigger respect for the heroes, helpers, and victims.

I had just gotten up for work and turned on the news to see the first tower on fire. At first I thought, "what was that pilot thinking, flying so low over buildings like that." Then before I could even hear the reporter say what was going on, the second tower got hit. I knew then it was not an accident.

A few hours later, I was in a customer's house who was glued to their TV, I asked if they minded if I watched for a minute to get an update on what was going on. Within minutes we saw the first tower fall. They panicked and ran out the door to fill up their car with gas. An hour later they returned and informed me that half the town's gas stations were out of gas, and the few places with gas had lines stretching as far as he could see.

Watching this all happen made me sick and scared. But watching Bush blame Iraq and listening to all the people he tricked cheer about what was going to happen to Saddam made me angry about how foolish this country had become. Not only must we never forget what happened on this day, we must never allow this country to sink to such low levels that we falsely accuse and attack other nations out of anger, and never again should we use torture on people for any reason.

i was one year old when i was in NYC September 11. i heard screaming, crying and smoke. now I'm 10 years old and i still remember how the smoke looked. i still hear the screaming and crying. i've been looking at videos online and have searched everything for 5 years. when i was only five i started being curious about knowing who was behind killing 2000 human beings but i still don't. it's a mystery that has never been solved.

well i just turned 50 this past year. i will never forget it until the day i die and i hope and pray we get osama bin laden before it's my time to lay it to rest. god bless america and those who don't like it need to get somewhere and leave us at peace.

America had everything to do with this attack. the middle east made threats but this whole attack was so that usa could go to war with the middle east. the government had everything to do with it. it is all a scheme. open your eyes!

9/11 had to be a controlled demolition in the sense that there is no way that the two towers collapsed due to fire melting the 47 steel core columns. if that was the theory, then the first building hit by the plane should have fallen first since it was on fire for one hour before the second tower was hit but the second tower fell first. building 7 fell at 5 in the afternoon after the damage it received from the collapse. if you look at the tape it fell under 10 seconds. if that theory was correct then more buildings around should also have collapsed since the tower didn't all fall on just building 7.

What really happened on 9/11 was part true and some lies. The government was already planning to demolish the world trade centers, but not on that day. if you watch closely to the videos there were pre-detonation explosions. The buildings could have survived but the government decided to take action now while america thought it was the terrorists fully.

Yeah, the terrorists did fly planes into the tower, but the heat inside the building was not hot enough for the steel to bend and break. they were bombed off. I studied 9/11 for five years closely looking at the videos and the proof was right there. its OK if you don't believe me but take a look for yourself.

if we were attacked on 9/11 then why won't the government officials show us what really hit the pentagon? A video camera at a hotel across the pentagon has a perfect angle to what hit it, but meanwhile tapes were confiscated and not allowed to be seen. No airplane was found at the pentagon because the massive explosion vaporized the plane but they were still able to identify the victims by fingerprints and dental records.

Now what magic explosion can vaporize a plane with huge engine mad of steel but can leave someone's fingerprints intact? I'm definitely not unamerican, but the possibility of a corrupt government is very well possible.

I'm doing a project about this in my world studies class. and i find that the more i read about everything that happened this day the more it makes me realize how good we have it. and we take all we have for granted.

we could have been in that burning building that day. we could have died. all of us. you never know what will come next in this small world. it seems everyone puts on an act, we say "that's horrible" and to the people whose loved ones were in those buildings and who have suffered through the trauma, i mean really, really suffered through this, we say that we know how they feel. but do we? do we really know what if feels like to have someone who you love die in a fire. or on an airplane that was overtaken. or jump out of a lord knows how ever many stories building because they think that it is the only that they have even the slightest chance of living through this.

though i am only 13 years old i do understand what it means to go through this. i didn't go through this. but a very close friend of mine, her uncle to whom she loved very dearly died in the pentagon on that day. i thought at once that oh i know how she feels. let me comfort her and console her to make her feel better.

"Declaring war sooner" is definitely not something that could have stopped September 11th but only made it happen sooner by fueling the Middle East's hatred for America even more.

While I agree 100 percent that 9/11 was a horrifying and unnecessary event, people must keep in mind what we are doing and have done in Iraq.

America has murdered far more innocent men, women and children in the name of "protecting America." It's all so very wrong.

It's truly sad that this is how history will read when our children and our children's children will learn this moment. Real people did die, and the real reason for the cause will never be explained by the government.

this all happened when i was in third grade and to this day i still don't understand why it happened. the human race is stupid and we do things that just may change history for the worst. that's all this was. An idiot's choice that caused all this pain and grief.

Some would argue that the government had fore-knowledge of these terrorist attacks. Unfortunately most "Conspiracy theories" have made it impossible to discuss the merits of such a claim. I wonder if people would change even if they knew exactly what happened.

I like the argument that a conspiracy "would have leaked". Did the Kennedy assassination leak, or wasn't it a conspiracy? Really. U.S. officials met in Berlin with Afghani officials some months before the attack and they expressed U.S. intention to go to war in Afghanistan. How conveniently things turned out.

How about mentioning that "evidence indicates that three World Trade Center towers 1,2, and 7 were imploded by by pre-planted demolition charges."

How about mentioning that "contrary to established procedure, no fighter jets were scrambled when 4 planes deviated from course and were suspected of hijacking."

How about mentioning that at the exact time of the Sept. 11 attacks there was a military drill occurring that included multiple bogus radar targets inserted to flight tracking screens, and that included a scenario of planes flying into office buildings in NYC?"

Not mentioning these facts lends credence to the "official" government story, and is woefully incomplete and incorrect.

We don't need to read or view the governmentt-supplied analysis when we can critically examine the facts for ourselves and discover what really occurred.

This is a much more complicated event than your summary would indicate.
