What is a Prostate Massage?

Prostate massage is a type of massage that gently manipulates the prostate gland for healthful benefits. It is frequently cited as an aspect of urology, which concentrates on the reproductive systems of men as well as the urinary tracts of both sexes, and andrology, which deals with the overall health issues affecting men's bodies. There have been several reported benefits to this massage, including rejuvenated sexual function and relief from certain conditions unique to the prostate.

The procedure can be conducted in a medical setting, as sexual foreplay, or as a solo activity. During the procedure, a special tool is inserted into the anus, usually about 4 to 5 inches (10.2 to 12.7 centimeters). A finger is sometimes used if the specialized equipment is not available, though research has shown that fingers may be too short to properly access the area. In most instances, the anus and the massage tool are both well lubricated to make the process more comfortable for the individual.

The tissues of the prostate gland are extremely sensitive, and it is these tissues that are delicately manipulated and stimulated during a massage. The massage tool locates the prostate, which in most men is the size of a kiwifruit. Immediate contact with the gland will produce an intense sensation that many men find pleasant. Gingerly and mindfully moving the massage tool around the prostate is the most common of all the massage techniques as it releases further sensation and can aid in resolving a variety of sexual and reproductive issues.

The benefits of a prostate massage include a heightening of sexual feeling, overcoming impotence and erectile dysfunction, and stronger ejaculation. Blood flow throughout the pelvic area can become constrained, and a massage is an ideal way to get the blood moving again. This can have a dramatic impact on a patient's sex life and result in sustained erections, more pleasurable orgasms, and longer sexual stamina.

A prostate massage can also benefit those with prostatitus. Prostatitus is an inflammation of the prostate caused by bacteria that has developed and multiplied in the gland's sacs. The often intensive pain of this highly uncomfortable condition can often be alleviated through massage techniques.

Men diagnosed with prostate cancer may stand to benefit from massage as well. Circulation to and from the prostate can be encouraged, thereby supplying the area with much-needed nutrients, oxygen, and fresh blood. It can also help eradicate bacteria, which aids in the prevention of prostate cancer.

There are a few recorded prostate massage risks, including possible hemorrhaging, hemorrhoids, and cellulitis, an inflammation of the area's tissues. Medical experts advise that patients should consult a healthcare professional about the best ways of going about receiving or self-administering a massage.

I am a 57 yr old man with a wife who is as adventurous as I when it comes to the bedroom. I have enjoyed prostate stimulation in the past with and w/o my partner, generally my orgasms are very strong when my prostate is stimulated.

The prostate is a very important part on human health for a man. You should keep your prostate in mind even at a younger age. At a younger age if you look towards the future you can take care of your prostate for when you reach an older age. This may help you later in life.

Men should learn, if possible, if there is a tendency to have prostate problems in your future. This is when you should be extra careful. A genetic tendency isn't a death sentence, but it is a warning signal.

Prostate cancer to men is as common and deadly as breast cancer is to woman. This is something people need to keep in mind.
